Don Rickles Biography

 Don Rickles was an American stand-up comedian, author and actor. He was a well-known and popular entertainer. He was a combination of humor and quick wit, as well as his sincere affection for his fans which led to him becoming an ideal source of laughter, enjoyment, and amusement. Due to his ability to make an offensive insult seem funny and hilarious, he was a regular participant in celebrity roasts. He attracted a lot of attention because his jokes were hurtful and cruel, and yet the person at the receiving end would be laughing wholeheartedly. Although he started as a regular performer and did routinely-prepared jokes, he changed his plans after realizing that his impromptu insults were more popular than the prepared material. His style endeared him to many of his fans, which included the great Frank Sinatra. He was also a star in a variety of film and TV productions. He also produced two comedy albums. He was honored with numerous awards, including a "Lifetime Achievement" award at The Comedy Awards. Don Rickles was only able to get small TV roles after his graduation. He started doing stand-up comedy to increase his earnings, and eventually establishing his 'insult comedian' persona. He was a major part of Clint Eastwood's film that became a hit Kelly's Heroes (1970). He also made appearances in television comedies like 'The Don Rickles Show' (1972) and 'The Dean Martin Roasts' (1973). Barbara Sklar married Don Rickles on the 14th of March, 1965. Their two children were Mindy and Larry. Their son died on December 31, 2011. Bob Newhart was his best friend, and he frequently went on vacations with his wife. They were a couple who appeared on many television shows together, including 'Newhart'. Don Rickles was also a close acquaintance of Bob Newhart and they frequently spent time together on vacation in California.
