Rosamund Pike

Born in London, England in 1979, Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the only child of Caroline (Friend) who was the classical violinist's mother, as well as Julian Pike, an opera father of a singer. She spent her early years traveling throughout Europe as a result of her parents' work. Pike went to Badminton School in Bristol, England and was a part of the National Youth Theatre. In a National Youth Theatre production of "Romeo and Juliet", she was first spotted and was signed by an agent, although she continued to study at Wadham College, Oxford, where she read English Literature, eventually graduating with an upper second-class honors degree.Pike played in a range of UK television shows such as Wives and Daughters (1999), before scoring an auspicious debut in a feature film as the glacial beauty "Miranda Frost" in the James Bond film, Die Another Day (2002); when the film was released at the age of 23, she was just 23. Although it was a large-budget action film but the film subsequent work was mostly in smaller, independent films like Promised Land (2004), The Libertine (2004), (for which she received the Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards), and Pride & Prejudice (2005) as one of the Bennet daughters. Following a brief appearance in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006) was her next film. She returned to film, delivering outstanding performances in three films. She also appeared in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and the sci-fi action Wrath of the Titans (2012). She returned to action films as the female lead alongside Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
