Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright, born 17 February 1991 was an English actress. She also works as an actor, director, activist, and actress. Her most well-known character is that of Ginny Weasley which is the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for ten consecutive years, until she was chosen to play the character in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright appeared in several independent films like Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films received mixed reviews. Wright made her stage debut as the lead actress in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse in 2013.Wright graduated from University of the Arts London in 2012 with a bachelor's diploma in filmmaking. In 2012, she founded BonBonLumiere and began making short films. Her first project in the direction of a director was the coming-of-age-drama Separate We Come, Separate We Go (2012) which starred David Thewlis, which was released at the Cannes Film Festival to critical acclaim. She directed Know Thyself (2016), with Christian Coulson, and Sextant (2016) Both of which featured landscape and emotions as themes. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2017. Medusa's Ankles (2018) which starred Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. It is based upon A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She has directed music videos for Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn. Wright is an ambassador for Greenpeace and Lumos and has been acknowledged for her environmental activism.
